At present, I’m feeling unsure about my pending transfer request to work in banking operations UK time. That’ll start taking place in the beginning of next year but what that means is that I’m continuing to work with my HK time colleagues. I’m starting to socialise and banter more with them and it feels of course nice. Furthermore, I am getting more familiar with the systems and procedures, so I’m not really into the idea of starting from scratch at another team. I admit the main reason I feel rattled about work is the early start time and that’s just being a bit too soft, isn’t it? As for exercise, I should be able to incorporate a few work-out drills in the evening. Now for the studying bit, I’ve pretty much done nil up to now but yeah, again, I should be forceful at it. All this amounts to a lack of toughness on my part. I know that when (if?) I switch teams, I will feel sad and miss my work pals, and if the main reason I left is due to me being soft, I’ll feel a bit ‘guilty’ (for lack of better word) about it. It’s time I toughen up. Plus, my body needs it, it is in such a flabby state at the moment.
- Friday night – I went out with my guy friend to Putrajaya with the intention of looking at the lights and buildings and taking pics of them. But we only walked about at the Dataran Putra square and viewed the nicely-lit bridge from a distance. Anyway, we then headed to a Arabic restaurant and I had a chicken kabsah & strawberry Barbican.
- Annual dinner – I attended my very first workplace anual dinner on the weekend. The theme was back-to-school and my cousin & I went for a round of shopping to get the desired outfits. The event was emceed by Malaysian celebrities and I just missed out on taking a pic with one of them. Anyway, I had a fun time dancing and my highlight of the night was probably dancing with the two Chinese girls & a Malay girl from my work induction. 🙂
- Friend’s wedding – It was the first wedding in my (friends’) gang and it was held at the Mariamman Temple KL. I went there on the back a 1-hour sleep but it didn’t matter, I really liked being around my friends today. We took plenty of wefies, had lunch seated in a circle on the floor, & had group pics taken with the wedded couple. Basically, it was a special experience and I have my moment with a KL cultural landmark. [PS: Our girls looked resplendent in their traditional attires.]
- Bastian Schweinsteiger has netted his first goal for Man Utd!
- Song for the week was Adele’s “Hello”.
- The Chinese girls working in banking operations HK time are cute!
Okay, time to enjoy my 10am work shift for the week. Not surprisingly, there’s no Sunday Night Syndrome tonight. Definitely a much-welcomed change!
