Well, it’s my birthday month and as title clearly reads, I’m well into my late twenties now. So, Happy 28th Birthday to me, and let’s proceed with a review/recap of my March 2016’s fun activities:
- Putrajaya Lake Cruise – My birthday weekend was turning out to be a passive affair so I decided to go on a cruise around Putrajaya Lake (it’s man-made, if you’re curious about these things). Architectural highlights: Seri Wawasan Bridge, Millennium Monument, Monorel Bridge & Seri Saujana Bridge. It was not exactly a Duran Duran ‘Rio’ yacht-style experience, but hey, I went on a cruise, so that’s pretty neat.
- Club De Goa – This was my 1st Indian club experience and I enjoyed the night out with my friends. They played A R Rahman Tamil hits (along with more recent Indian film songs) and it made way for fun dancing moments. On a side note, my mate’s girlfriend looked amazing in red halter-top. For the record, I have a weakness for girls dressed in halter-tops. 😉
- Cameron Highlands – My sister decided to celebrate her birthday weekend up in Cameron Highlands so we (as in our common group of friends) made our way to this hill resort. We stayed at Heritage Hotel (Tudor-inspired design), went mini-trekking near Robinson’s Falls, picked and ate strawberries, drank tea overlooking the Cameron Bharat Tea Plantation (I had scones with it as well) & I bought 6 different types of mini cacti. Btw, I shared a room with my girlfriend and we loved our intimate & passionate moments. [PS: I made my white wine debut] Oh, I almost forgot this one, we had BK dinner at the Sg.Buloh overhead restaurant on the way back.
- Holi Festival – I went for my first Holi Festival with my girlfriend (her 1st time too) at the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir temple. I had loads of fun throwing coloured powder at people, got soaked with water courtesy of the DBKL water trucks, listened to Goldkartz perform their hit singles & the coolest bit coming right up, we managed to get an entry into the Malaysian Book of Records for the largest Holi festival. Now that’s the way to go about with your 1st Holi experience!
- Ganjam (Odissi) – I am making it a point to watch Malaysian icons exhibit their craft before they retire, hence the reason I got the tickets for this Indian classical dance performance. I finally got to see Datuk Ramli Ibrahim perform live in a proper setting and it more than made up for my missing him dance at the local temple. Btw, my girlfriend is a former classical dancer herself (she did bharathanatyam when she was younger) and seeing that she’s still very much interested in this field, I hope she continues in this endeavour.
- Misc – (a) I ate Hydrebadi Dum Biryani (chicken) at Fierce Curry House, Bangsar. (b) Movies for the month: Gods of Egypt & Batman vs Superman
And that’s a wrap for March 2016!
PS: I’m not gonna bother with the tags. 😛
